Beirut Art Center Square Meter takes as its central concern the notion of an artwork’s response to the space in which it is exhibited.
Despite the many stages of the space’s transformation, formerly a furniture factory, now Beirut Art Center, the floor remains constantly telling. The installation is the result of casting recycled paper pulp into silicone rubber molds of large sections of the rough floor’s surface, which is subsequently mounted on the wall.
