When the Invisible touches the Surface
In Measuring Entropy, paper artworks delve into the futile presence of nature amidst our tech-driven world. The artist placed a silicone cast of a studio floor in Lebanon's mountains, allowing fallen pine needles from the surrounding trees to accumulate over time, symbolising entropy. She then pressed paper pulp onto the surface, capturing a fossil-like imprint of the foliage, hinting at paper's potential obsolescence and nature's vulnerability. This process reflects the cyclical essence of our natural surroundings , governed by temperature and light shifts impacting trees' internal workings.
